Congrats to Megan Starkey and Jennifer Sager…the Immanuel Met Ott Players of the Week! The voting was so close this week and the performances of both players were so spectacular, the Commish had difficulty naming just one player!
Megan Starkey turned in a gold glove performance at 3rd base last Saturday morning for the K1 Girl Power Team #1. With focus, determination and speed, she was able to force out the runner at 3rd base on back to back plays. She also showed speed and hustle as she was able to beat out the pitcher who tried to force her out at home. Said Coach Mike Valicevic, “Megan’s play on Saturday reminded me of Brandon Inge…except Megan can actually hit!”
Jennifer Sager batted 3rd on Wednesday night and was 5 for 5 at the plate, building off a solid 2 for 3 performance last week in her first ever coach pitch game! Defensively, Jennifer assisted on a force out at 3rd base and almost threw a runner out at 1st. Said Jennifer, “I thought I got the runner out by a half step, but whatever!”
Megan and Jennifer weren't the only solid performers for Immanuel this week. Other nominations for week 2 included Tyler Prisby and Tyler Kressbach. Keep up the hard work fellas!
